Prof. Gökhan Kahveci, MD – Cardiology

Born on July 19, 1977 in K.Maraş, Prof.Gökhan Kahveci,MD graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine in 2001. He completed his cardiology residency at Kartal Koşuyolu Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital between 2001-2006.

He worked at Kartal Koşuyolu Training and Research Hospital between 2010-2020. Between 2012 and 2020, he gained extensive experience in the field of imaging as the Head of the Echocardiography Unit. He received his Cardiology Associate Professorship in 2012. In 2021, he started to serve in Istinye University Faculty of Medicine, Liv Hospital Vadistanbul as a professor. He has specialized in “Imaging in Percutaneous Cardiac Interventions” since 2012. Educations and studies at abroad are available for many specific percutaneous cardiac interventions.

He has been primarily involved in the treatment of many cases at home and abroad. Professional interests; cardiac imaging (echocardiography), interventional echocardiography, 3D echocardiography, stress echocardiography, cardiomyopathies, heart failure, heart transplantation, valve diseases, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and rare diseases.

He is the imaging proctor of percutaneous valve procedures, such as Mitraclip (St.Jude), Triclip (St. Jude), Neochord (Neochord Inc) and Tendyne (St.Jude) inTurkey (international qualification). He is a member of the Turkish Society of Cardiology and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging. He was deemed worthy of the 2007 Young Investigator Encouragement Award of the Turkish Society of Cardiology and the 2008 High-Level Publication Award of the Turkish Society of Cardiology. He has over 100 local and international publications. He continues his academic and clinical studies at Istinye University Faculty of Medicine. He is single and has no children.

About Training Program

Goals and Objectives of Training: Which patients from the group of patients who cannot be operated on or at high risk should be selected according to which imaging criteria? Percutaneous Mitral Valve Tip Repair and Percutaneous Tricuspid Valve Tip Repair procedures can be cooperated for patient selection (online help). It should be emphasized that these 2 operations are quite reliable when performed in experienced hands.
Content of Training: A content of about 30-45 minutes, mostly case-based, containing plenty of animated eco-images, emphasizing the difference between before and after. Scientific Evidence Should Also be Emphasized.
