Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Cem Dural, MD was born in 1978 in Ankara. He completed his primary education at Private Tarabya Dost Primary School and his secondary education at Galatasaray High School. After graduating from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, which he started in 1997, he started his specialization training at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery in 2003. He completed his state service obligation at Iğdır State Hospital between 2009-2012. In 2012, Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital was appointed to the General Surgery Clinic as a specialist doctor.

He worked as an Endocrine Surgery Fellow at the Endocrine Surgery Center of the Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Ohio, USA, where he went with the Turkish Surgical Society Scholarship in 2014. In 2015, he worked as an Endocrine Surgery Clinical Fellow at the Swedish Karolinska University Hospital, Endocrine Surgery and Sarcoma Center, where he went with the European Society of Endoscopic Surgery Scholarship. Also in 2015, he successfully completed the exam organized by the European Association of Medical Specialists and the European Society of Endocrine Surgery and received the European Endocrine Surgery Competence Certificate.

In 2016, he worked in the field of Translational Medicine at the Apoptosis Research Center at the University of Ottawa, Canada for 9 months. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2017. Between 2017-2021, Health Sciences University, Bakırköy Dr. He worked as a Training Assistant at Sadi Konuk Health Application and Research Center, General Surgery Clinic. In 2021, he started to work as a general surgery specialist at LIV Hospital Ulus and Vadistanbul Hospitals. In 2022, he was appointed as an associate professor to Istinye University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery. He is still an active member of many national and international endocrine surgery and minimally invasive surgery associations. Dural is a member of the Board of the Endocrine Surgery Association and the General Secretary of the Association.

Surgical treatments of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal gland diseases and cancers, minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery applications are of special interest. He has over 80 articles published in national and international journals.

Theoretical and practical training on surgical treatment of Thyroid Gland, Parathyroid Gland and Adrenal Gland diseases, current treatment and surgical methods, auxiliary technological equipment in current use, surgical quality standardization, perioperative multidisciplinary patient management.
