Thoracic Surgery Training Program

Prof. MD. Çağatay Saim Tezel

I have been working as a pure thoracic surgeon for almost 25 years. Through those years, I have performed more than 500 minimal invasive both videothoracoscopic and robotic lung anatomical resection. I served as the past-regent of Türkiye in the society of European Thoracic Surgeons, and the Past Group of chair in European Respiratory Society.

In my clinic, which provides services in the field of lung health, we aim to provide healthy lungs to our patients. Primarily with the treatment of lung and pleura tumors, mediastinal surgery, tracheal and diaphragmatic surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and surgical and non-surgical treatments of emphysema.

We have adopted the “fast, effective and safe” surgical principles in our surgeries, including minimally invasive methods such as robotic surgery and videothoracoscopic surgery, a strong patient-surgeon relationship is built on communication, mutual understanding and trust. This dynamic encourages patient cooperation which promotes better health outcomes and increase patient satisfaction. We provide that motto to all of our patients.

THORACIC SURGERY TRAINING PROGRAM

As a project that can attract particular attention under the name of Liv Academy, it includes patient-based – peroperative video visuals under the name of “Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery” for Central Asian Region, Balkans Region and the African Region, and has a title that can attract particular attention: “How can we reduce the cost of Thoracic Surgery? ” the concealed idea of the title is to provide good quality surgery for everyone, everyone deserves better quality of life after thoracic surgery.

In this way, we can inform our patients with the message that minimally invasive surgery is not a financially unattainable option and offer them a reasonable and logical option to receive treatment in our hospital. Because with the ERAS – “enhanced recovery after surgery” protocols that can be applied thanks to these closed lung surgeries, patient hospitalization times and drug and painkiller costs are reduced, surgery times are shortened, and patients can return to their homes and hometowns earlier and return to their economic activities earlier.
